Greek Dancing in Boston, Opa!

Yasas!

Last night I attended the Hellenic Intercollegiate Dance in Boston, a semi-formal dinner/dance for Greek students and graduates in the Boston Radisson Hotel. All proceeds from the event were donated to the the Philoxenia House Charity, which offers hospitality to people (mainly guests are from Cyprus and Greece) who come to Boston for medical treatment.

The dance was a HUGE hit as many Hellenic societies from all over Boston organized and attended for a fun night of traditional Greek dancing, lamb chops and great Greek company (some of the schools involved: BC, BU, MIT, Suffolk, Harvard, UMB, Hellenic, Providence College, UML, Tufts, Northeastern).

I think this dance is one of the many examples of clubs (in this case the Hellenic societies) from nearby colleges joining together to put on a great event. With so many colleges nearby, Boston is an amazing college city in which there are always opportunities to meet students from other schools.

If you are interested in getting involved with the BC Hellenic Society please let me know, I would love to help out any Greek buddies or anyone interested in the Greek culture!
